Proportioner selection is the decision that constrains what you can bid for the next several years, so it is worth getting right rather than getting cheap.
E-20 class. Adequate for bed liners, single-vehicle work, trailer decks, small maintenance jobs, and shop work in the low hundreds of square feet per day. Lower power requirement, easier to put in a trailer, and a realistic entry point for a crew adding the capability alongside existing services.
E-30 class. What you want if you intend to bid roofs, tank interiors, structural steel packages, or contract shop coating. Output is the constraint on those jobs — not skill, not material — and the machine either lets you quote a competitive day rate or it does not.
Support items that get underestimated: compressed air capacity and dryness, generator sizing under actual load rather than nameplate, heated hose length matched to how far you really park from the work, and a spare gun kit. Nothing kills a shutdown-window job faster than a mix chamber failure with no backup on the truck.

Troubleshooting on the Job
The failure modes are consistent enough to list, and most of them are recoverable if you catch them in the first few square feet rather than the last forty gallons.
Soft, tacky, or sticky cure. Off-ratio, almost always. Check pressure balance across both sides — a divergence under trigger means one side is starving. Verify heat on both A and B. Material sprayed off-ratio has to come off; it will not cure out with time.
Coarse, dry, or sandy texture. Usually temperature. Component or hose heat too low gives poor atomization and a rough film that traps air. Check hose temperature at the whip, not just at the machine.
Mix chamber loading up or crystallizing. Purge discipline and moisture. A-side is moisture-sensitive; keep drums sealed with desiccant on open containers, and do not leave a gun sitting mid-job without purging.
Pinholing or blowholes. Substrate outgassing, most often on concrete or on steel that was sun-heated and is now cooling. Coat on falling substrate temperature where you can, and prime porous substrates with 7001 first.
Poor adhesion. Prep, contamination, or dew point. Degrease before abrading rather than after, verify the substrate is above dew point, and check chlorides in any salt environment.
When something is going wrong on a live job, call us. We would rather talk you through it in ten minutes than read about it in a warranty claim.
Packaging, Freight & Stocking
Material ships in kits and drum sets, nationwide. What you should stock depends on your bid mix, but a few practical points:
Keep 7001 primer on the truck at all times. It is inexpensive relative to the barrier layer and it is the thing that lets you say yes to a mixed-substrate job on site rather than rescheduling.
Carry one wear-grade set if you bid any material handling work. Flak Jacket Pro jobs tend to arrive as emergencies, and the crews that can respond same-week get them.
Watch A-side storage. Moisture contamination is the most common way applicators write off material. Sealed drums, desiccant on anything opened, and temperature-controlled storage.
Plan freight into your bids on large jobs. Drum freight is not trivial on a multi-pallet order, and it is easier to price in than to absorb.
